1. Corgin's roots lie in South Africa

The original odour control business was founded there in 1993, and its still running today.

2. New Zealand helped shaped our beginnings

A friend in New Zealand  provided crucial advice during the start up phase.

3. Corgin UK was founded on a Bank Holiday

17 April 2001, an Easter Monday. Because why not start a business when everyone else is relaxing?!

4. The name 'Corgin' means...

... absolutely nothing! It was invented by the founders wife simply because it was unique.

5. Our 1st offices were unconventional

A timber shed and a disused pigsty in the North, and a tiny repurposed flammable store in Stafford.

6. Our early days were very smelly

Odour control was our bread and butter and our noses paid the price.

7. Bruce's sense of smell is in the top 5% of the UK

A formal olfactometry test confirmed it. A superpower in the industry.

8. Our 1st R&D experiments were done with improvised equipment

Prototypes were tested using whatever containers, pumps and pipes were available. True garage engineering spirit.

9. Our 1st company vehicle was a second-hand van with over 150,000 miles

It worked hard, carried everything and refused to die. A real unsung hero.

10. Our branded uniforms were stitched by a local seamstress

Before we had suppliers, we had a neighbour with a sewing machine.

11. Our earliest product demos involved driving across the country with equipment in the back of a car

No fancy trailers, no marketing displays, just determination and a boot full of kit.

12. One winter, our equipment froze solid during a site trial

The team thawed it out with kettles borrowed from the site canteen. Field engineering at its finest.

13. Our 1st customer support line was a single mobile phone

It lived in someone's pocket 24/7 before we offered official round the clock support.

15. In 2009, we had perfect left and right handed balance

Exactly half the team was left-handed and half right-handed!
