Technical Manager
When did you join Corgin?
I joined Corgin in January 2006, following a period of familiarisation with their business whilst closing down my previous business.
What's one thing about your job at Corgin that motivates you?
I love being able to provide solutions to help others, both internal and external customers. Mostly technical, but I am interested in any business issues which can be helped with a different perspective!
What's a book/methodology/piece of advice that has influenced your approach to work?
I have always struggled with time management, and early on I was given the opportunity to take time management training. Simply writing things down helps to keep me on track. If this resonates with you, my advice is to make notes about everything and anything! If you need to look back, it really helps to find some landmarks to fix on.
What's your favourite team tradition or team-building activity at Corgin?
Working at Corgin is a team-building exercise. It’s what we try to do, support each other as a team! However, If I have to choose, then my (short!) memory goes back to the Domino Race…. 😊. It’s important to have team events that don’t relate to our job or business, to unpack the abilities and skills which may be overlooked in the team. We have an Awesome Team!
Which company value resonates with you the most, and why?
Honesty. I just said the first one that came to mind, but I believe it is the most important. 'Integrity' is of course the standard, but being human, we ‘all often offend’. However, being in an environment where you can be honest and be sure of support, even when you’ve failed, is the best experience. That’s what makes you loyal…
What would be your dream job?
I’d like to work for Corgin as a ‘service engineer’ in 2006…! I’ve seen most sides of things working at Corgin. Whilst I was the ‘Service Engineer’ back then, I had to fulfil the roles of Project Manager, Lab Technician, Installation team, Operations support, Product design, Supply chain…. In a busy team of 3 people! We had fun back then, and we still do today. Working at Corgin is my dream job, as long as I can be useful and support the team. I’m sure they’ll let me know when I need a change…
