From October 2024 to January 2025, we have surveyed and produced contingency plans for 84 sites across Anglian Water's 6 regions.
Each regional treatment support manager was tasked with producing a list of their top 10 'high-risk' aeration sites in their region, so these could be prioritised.
For each site, we produced a resilience assessment, based on factors such as regularity of asset failure, toxic shocks and historical load data. Recommended mitigation measures that could be implemented were then created.
We also produced an aeration contingency plan, looking at different scenarios (i.e. partial or complete asset failure) and came up with solutions, including pricing, for these scenarios.
This meant that in the event of an emergency, the site teams have an actionable plan that can be implemented immediately. This not only reduces the panic and pressure on site, but also avoids losing valuable time producing a plan.
The benefit to Corgin is that we have already been to site and scoped out what we need; saving time and reducing the risk of getting caught out by unknowns such as access issues.
