Ecstatic About Performance Of Corgin Aerators

The project manager at a sugar factory in the UK is ecstatic about the performance of his recently installed Corgin aerators. The factory effluent plant had been struggling to meet effluent consent levels as their aerators were very old and inefficient – only managing to achieve a DO level of 0.1mg/l and a ditch velocity of 0.1 m/s. The plant has various challenges including very high mixed liquor suspended solids and high BOD.

The Corgin team offered a solution which included a combination of Rotex Brush Aerators to provide highly-efficient oxygen transfer and self aspirating Spiral Aerators to assist with the mixing requirements and supplementary oxygenation. The new aerators have been installed this month, and although they have not been finally commissioned, early tests show an immense increase in dissolved oxygen to a level of 4.6mg/l and a ditch surface velocity of 0.8m/s!
